When you no longer qualify for long-term care insurance
 

The long-term care insurance system is designed to cover all persons aged 40 or over. However, individuals falling under the categories set forth below are excluded. (Employers are required to inform insurers about employees not covered by the long-term care insurance.)

 

(1)

Persons with no permanent domicile in Japan (who have not registered in the residency register)

 

(2)

Foreign nationals permitted to stay in Japan for less than one year or scheduled to leave Japan within one year

 

(3)

Persons staying in facilities to which the long-term care insurance system is not applicable



Procedure  
 

When you (insured person) become eligible for exemption from long-term care insurance, or if you or a dependent who was eligible for exemption from long-term care insurance is no longer eligible for exemption, immediately fill in the necessary details in the form below and submit it to the Health Insurance Society via your employer.
