Classifications of levels of required care
 

There is a limit on the maximum amount of benefits that can be provided under long-term care insurance, in accordance with the degree to which the service recipient requires long-term care. Since the service recipient is required to pay the entire amount of any costs for services he or she uses exceeding this maximum amount, care plans are prepared to ensure their costs will fall under this maximum benefit amount.
