Dental examinations

Free dental examinations are available at some 1,700 partner dental clinics nationwide of the Dental Checkup Center Inc.

①General dental checkup Visual examination for cavities, plaque, and tartar, and consultation on other oral health concerns
②Orthodontic consultation Counseling by a dentist
③Aesthetic dentistry consultation Counseling by a dentist or dental hygienist (Choose from two courses.)
  • Whitening consultation
  • Prosthetic consultation (fillings, crowns)
④Implant treatment consultation Counseling by a dentist

Society insured persons and dependents (no age restrictions)

Examination cost

Free

  • * Fees apply for secondary examinations and treatment.
  • * Fully consult with the dental clinic before starting secondary examinations or treatment.

Examination period

April 1 – March 31 of the following year

Flow of examinations

  • ①Apply for an examination
    Search for a dental clinic on the Dental Checkup Center website and apply at least two weeks before your desired date.
    * Applications by telephone are not accepted.
  • ②Appointment of examination date and time
    The Dental Checkup Center will make an appointment with the partner dental clinic.
  • ③Notice of scheduled appointment
    After the appointment is finalized, you will receive an email notice of the scheduled appointment. Check the examination date and time and dental clinic information stated. (Depending on how busy it is, it may take about four business days before the email is sent.)
  • ④Undergo examination
    On the examination day, present the notice of the scheduled appointment (email screen) at the dental clinic and receive the dental examination.
  • ⑤Explanation of examination results
    After the examination by the dentist and dental hygienist, the examination details and results will be explained to you.
  • ⑥Survey
    The Dental Checkup Center will ask you to complete a survey intended to improve the quality of dental examinations.
  • ⑦Handling of personal information
    After the end of the fiscal year, the Dental Checkup Center will report the examination record (name, insured person/dependent code and number, gender, examination date, and examination area only; examination results are not included) to the Health Insurance Society.

Notes

  • ①Various free examinations and treatment consultations are not covered by insurance.
  • ②X-rays and other secondary examinations are recommended if more detailed examination or diagnosis is needed.
    Fees apply for secondary examinations and treatment.
    Fully consult with the dental clinic before starting secondary examinations or treatment.
  • ③You cannot receive a free dental examination by contacting a partner dental clinic directly. All appointments must be made through the Dental Checkup Center.
  • ④Unauthorized appointment cancellations and late arrival are strictly prohibited. Be sure to contact the Dental Checkup Center if you need to reschedule. (Contact the clinic directly if the rescheduling is immediately prior to the appointment or the Dental Checkup Center is closed.)
  • * The Dental Checkup Center provides various dental examinations, treatment consultations, appointment services, and information on medical care institutions. Examinees are responsible for making their own decisions regarding secondary examinations, treatment, and medical information.
