Handling of specific personal information
The Act on the Use of Numbers to Identify a Specific Individual in Administrative Procedures limits the scope of use of personal information containing Individual Numbers (“specific personal information”) to the coordination of information among parties processing administrative operations, such as administrative agencies.
The Society does not use specific personal information for any purpose exceeding the specific scope of use as stipulated in the Act on the Use of Numbers to Identify a Specific Individual in Administrative Procedures. It also retains such information in an appropriate manner for the periods specified by laws and regulations and disposes of or deletes this information hereafter.
Purposes of use in coordination of information with other medical insurers or administrative agencies (“other agencies”) as stipulated in Article 19, Item 7 of the Act on the Use of Numbers to Identify a Specific Individual in Administrative Procedures
When receiving information from other agencies for the Society’s administrative processing
- Benefits information and other information related to review for Injury and Sickness Allowance and High-Cost Medical Care Benefits and other insurance benefits
- Tax and tax-exemption information related to matters such as determining elderly recipient copayment categories
- Information on eligibility as insured persons with other agencies related to administration of acceptance of insured persons
- Tax and tax-exemption information, certificate of residence information, etc., related to administration of dependent certification
- Information on public money receiving accounts related to insurance benefits and insurance premium refunds for Voluntarily and Continuously Insured Persons
When the Society provides information to other agencies for their administrative processing
- Information concerning Society insurance benefits, related to administration of benefits by other agencies, such as High-Cost Medical Care Benefits and childbirth- and funeral-related benefits
- Information on eligibility as insured persons and dependents with the Society related to administration of acceptance of insured persons and dependent certification by other agencies
