Family health examinations at a contracted medical care institution (dependents)

Since December 2, 2025, health insurance eligibility is verified using one of the following:

  • ①My Number Card as your Health Insurance Certificate
  • ②Eligibility Verification Certificate
  • ③My Number Card and Eligibility information screen on Mynaportal
  • ④My Number Card and Notice of Eligibility Information

Eligible persons

Dependents aged 18 and older
The family health examination (specific health checkup) may be undergone only once during the same fiscal year (April 1 through March 31 of the following year). Note that those who have undergone or plan to undergo the examination under ① - ④ below are not eligible. If you undergo the examination more than once, you will be billed later for the full cost of any subsequent examination.

  • ①Health examination at the Examination Center on the second floor of Kenpokaikan
  • ②Health examination at other medical care institutions
  • ③Complete medical checkup
  • ④Specific health checkup

Examination period

April 1 through March 31 of the following year

Contracted medical care institutions

You are eligible to use medical care institutions for which health examination cost is indicated in the “Family health examinations” column.

Examination items

  • * For those aged 40 and older, the examination items of a specific health checkup are also included.

Examination costs

Pay at the contracted medical care institution the portion of the contracted amount beyond the subsidy amount of 7,000 yen. You may not apply for the subsidy for the copayment amount remaining after paying to the contracted medical care institution the costs remaining after subtracting the subsidy amount.

  • * Reexaminations, detailed examinations, and follow-up examinations are in principle provided free of charge at contracted medical care institutions marked with “◎” under “Family health examination reexaminations.” (Detailed examinations for colorectal cancer screening and similar tests are covered by health insurance.) At other facilities, they are treated as medical examinations covered by health insurance.
