A medical care certificate for the elderly is issued

The copayment rate for medical care costs for persons aged 70-74 is either 20% or 30% depending on income. Previously, an elderly benefits card was issued to each of the elderly persons and their dependents to verify each personfs copayment rate. Since December 2, 2024, however, for those who have an Eligibility Verification Certificate, this information is in principle shown on the Eligibility Verification Certificate.

When you are treated at a medical institution, please present both your "medical care certificate for the elderly" and your insurance card.

Note that when your cost-sharing rate changes, you also need to change your medical care certificate for the elderly.

* Active workers II or active workers I need to submit a Certificate of Application of Maximum Copayment Amount to avoid paying more than the cost-sharing maximum amount at a hospital.
If you expect to incur high medical care costs, apply to the Society to obtain a certificate in advance.
